Before we could officially bid farewell to 2005, Refinery29 joined our friends at Saved Gallery of Art and Craft last week for an evening of pure and simple holiday cheer. The evening honored local lens-man Jody Ake with an exhibition of his latest ambrotypes, but guests also came for a bit of discounted holiday shopping, not to mention hot cups of spicy mulled wine and plentiful bottles of chilled Red Stripe. Though the homemade cookies went fast (thanks Piera!), plenty of guests lingered for our favorite local crooner, Jorge, who serenaded revelers with some classic Spanish and Portuguese ballads.
All in all, it was a festive and apropos ending to a very big year for Refinery29...our first to be exact. Thanks to all our friends who have generously and happily helped us along the way. We hope you'll continue to support and share in the growth of Refinery29 in 2006...Happy holidays to everyone!
